Friedman was widely known as a promoter, talent scout, producer and entrepreneur. Fondly remembered for having promoted Broadway spectaculars from the 1940s through the 1970s, Friedman also represented The Ringling Brothers Circus for decades. In the 1960s, Friedman managed the Atlanta Music Club, one of the city’s oldest cultural organizations, and received national acclaim for integrating the Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta with a black play he promoted. Additional credits to J. Lee Friedman’s extensive resume including president of the Atlanta-based Ahnevant Agency; vice president of the Braves Productions, Inc; consultant to Three Rivers Stadium and much more.
