The Allman Brothers Band/Idlewild South/At Fillmore East The Allman Brothers Band |
Released June 21, 2005
This three-disc collection contains some of the Allman Brothers's finest work: their groundbreaking, nearly genre-defining work on At the Fillmore East, and their equally-as-important debut record, The Allman Brothers Band, which set the blueprint and foundation for southern rock. Even the middle record, Idlewild South, is beautifully crafted and a classic. Normally, these three-disc collections aren't exactly chock-full of hits and can be suggested as starting points for casual listeners, but this collection breaks that trend. It's a simply outstanding set from start to finish. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
