This three-disc set from RedX features Curtis Mayfield revisiting some of his Impressions-era work like "I'm So Proud" and the elegant "People Get Ready," along with the original versions of his soundtrack hits "Superfly" and "Freddie's Dead," plus his great mid-period love ballad, "So In Love." There is also a fair amount of filler here, but if you're a Mayfield fan, it probably won't matter. There are countless Curtis Mayfield compilations on the market, and this one certainly isn't the best of those, but the price is more than reasonable (especially for a three-disc set), so it's worth a go for the casual listener. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
