Sam & Dave were one of soul music's top acts throughout the '60s, and I Thank You is a budget collection of some of their biggest hits. Unfortunately, these sound like re-recordings, not the originals done for Stax and Atlantic, and the sound has a slightly thin quality. The performances are not bad, but odds are that folks will be looking to purchase the same versions they heard on the radio (for that, try The Very Best of Sam & Dave on Rhino).
