Winning Combinations: The Allman Brothers & Lynyrd Skynyrd sounds like a diner breakfast combo, but the marriage of five songs each from these two cornerstones of Southern rock couldn't be more filling. Sure, this is a budget-priced piece of truck stop kiosk art that's missing most of each band's best material, but having "Midnight Rider" and "That Smell" on the same slab of binary pie is worth the poor service. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
