When I Find You Love/Sweet and Wonderful Jean Carn |
Released June ??, 2005 This two records on one disc compilation is taken from Jean Carn's residency on the Philadelphia International. 1979's When I Find You Love imprint is regarded by many to the apex of her tenure there. It's chock full of disco-tinged R&B uptempo numbers culminating in "Was There All It Was"; considered by many a disco connoisseur to be Carn's finest moment. 1981's Sweet And Wonderful also reflected Philly International's transition away from disco to a more contemporary R&B sound, and featured the chart hit "Love Don't Love Nobody". Most of this album pales in comparison to When I Find You Love, but Carn on an average day is still better than most singers on their best. ~ Rob Theakston , All Music Guide
