This budget-priced, 16-track double LP presents two sides of Lena Horne. The first disc, on which she is accompanied by an orchestra conducted by her husband, Lennie Hayton, is drawn from the 1959 album The Songs of Burke and Van Heusen and finds her tackling uptempo swing-style material such as "You Don't Have to Know the Language" and "Like Someone in Love." The second disc, an abbreviated version of the 1962 album Lena on the Blue Side, conducted by Marty Gold, is an equally effective set of bluesy torch songs like "The Rules of the Road" and "I'm Through With Love." ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
