When this was released in 1998 there were few sufficient compilations available for either artist's work on Philadelphia International. The English label Recall decided to release a two-CD set with Jean Carn and the Jones Girls, each getting one disc of material. Despite the often-arbitrary selections, this does offer great work. This set arguably has a better time capturing the sensual voiced Carn than the work of the Jones Girls. Classics like "Don't Let It Go to Your Head" and "My Love Don't Come Easy" are both brilliant mixes of her warmth and sexuality and the glossy though not overproduced style the label was known for. The best ballad here, "When I Find You Love," co-written by then labelmate Jerry Butler, is one of Carn's most poignant performances. The omissions of both "You Are All I Need" and "Don't Say No (To Love)" diminishes the set's appeal. The same could be said for the Jones Girls portion of this effort. Although this set teeters on the edge of clutter, the individual tracks more than stand up. The group's essential tracks "Dance Turned into a Romance" and "Nights Over Egypt" are included here. But what didn't make the list presents a problem. R&B and quiet storm necessities like their remake of the Stylistics "Children of the Night" and "My Melody" oddly didn't make the list. The inclusion of "Get as Much Love as You Can," "Life Goes On," and "I Close My Eyes" almost makes up for it.
