We're the Best of Friends Peabo Bryson |
Released November ??, 1979 Another hit album for Bryson, and one of his many successful collaborations with female vocalists. Natalie Cole's career had hit a dry spell, and she piggybacked on Bryson's hit status. But the two proved to be quite effective partners, although he was in much better vocal shape than she was at the time. His soaring leads often nearly evaporated her complementary lines, but the album still worked. It also got the pair two hits in the songs "Gimme Some Time" and a cover of Bobby Caldwell's "What You Won't Do for Love." ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
