All the Pylon you'll ever need is here on one long disc; the best of their career culled from their albums Gyrate and Chomp and various singles. Vanessa Briscoe's lyrics take the form of admonishments and are set to the band's dancefloor, militaristic beats. It's repetitive but enduring and helped launch a hundred bands, chiefly R.E.M., out of the small college town of Athens, GA in the early '80s. "Crazy," the song R.E.M. chose to cover, is a fine pop song indeed, but the lesser-known rock blast "Feast on my Heart" absolutely kills. ~ Denise Sullivan, All Music Guide
